Spin Academy has been training students of all age groups in the field of dancing and stage performances. We believe dance and fitness go hand in hand and to make your work outs more entertaining and result oriented, Spin Academy presents to you a DVD which will teach 6 different dance forms which double up as your fitness routine. 

The intensity of fitness will vary with each dance form and we will see to it that we get your body in perfect shape along with entertaining sessions of Jazz, Latin American-Salsa, Jive, Ballet, Belly dancing and some high voltage desi bhangra beats.

About The Dance Forms

Jazz is essentially the father of all dance styles. The movements that characterize this form are very isolated, staccato and linear.

Hip Hop:
Hip-hop emphasizes rhythm with a strong beat and the poetry of movement. Steps mostly move in a vertical direction. This form should be very stylized and enigmatic.

Latin America-salsa:
Latin American dance originates from Central and South America. Among the numerous varieties are mambo, rumba, lambada and most famously salsa. All rhythmic movement takes place below the hip line, although there are lots of twirls, spins, lifts and throws involving the upper body. Latin dance forms require a lot of style and attitude.
A disciplined form of dance, which is always performed with a partner. Pairs tend to utilize large areas of the dance floor during routines. This form is very controlled and poised, allowing the dancers to flow with incredible grace.

Jive is the perfect way to dance and have fun. It is also performed with a partner. The movements are usually simple but are set to a fast beat. This makes steps very rapid and stylized. Footwork and turns are both key to this form of dance.

Rock ‘n Roll:
Lots of musicals revolve around the style of rock’ n’ roll, the Grease movies and Crocodile Rock being two excellent examples. This is an individual form of dance involving very quick movements and of course, a lot of stamina.

Club Grooves:
Club grooves borrow from all the forms mentioned above. This style is great for dance parties and can be performed with or without a partner. The steps will usually be some combination of jazz, hip-hop, jive and salsa moves, depending on the preference of those dancing.

About Spin Academy:-
Spin Academy was founded in Mumbai in November 2000. In February 2001 Spin Academy expanded its horizons by starting classes in Nasik and Devlali and it was here in Ahmedabad,and the first live shows took place, with students performing along side their professional teachers.

The Dance and Fitness  DVD will consist of:-
Zumba Workout:-
A Zumba Fitness program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a fun workout that is more like attending a party than a dance or exercise class.

Weight training:-
Is a common type of strength training for developing the strength and size of skeletal muscles. It uses the force of gravity (in the form of weighted bars, dumbbells or weight stacks) to oppose the force generated by muscle through concentric or eccentric contraction. Weight training uses a variety of specialized equipment to target specific muscle groups and types of movement.

Cardiovascular exercise is exercise that raises your heart rate and keeps it elevated for a period of time

Risks and challenges

We will start shooting for 6 individual 20 to 25 minutes sessions ,for each day of the week and the videos will be such that you will be able to dance and have your fitness session along with us with live music and instructions on do's and don'ts of a rightous workout.Shooting this and preparing the perfect entertaining fitness DVD is uphill task.
